We have been practising in the Clarence Valley for a long period of time and have clients dating back to the 1940’s. The firm operates from well appointed offices in Grafton, Maclean and Yamba and has a progressive and enthusiastic approach to the provision of accounting, taxation and financial advice. Because we all live and practice in the Clarence Valley, we are aware of local issues. With that local knowledge, we can often give you information, advice and local contacts not otherwise available.

Each of our professional accountants has experience and expertise in different areas. We allocate our best talents to each matter and that accountant is directly accountable to you for the conduct of the assignment.
Speed of the operation is a priority. Our modern, fully computerized office is designed for maximum efficiency. Everyone is motivated to complete assignments quickly and progress is regularly communicated to you.
Clients expect and are entitled to have easy access to their accountant. You will always be able to speak directly to your accountant. If not available, your call will be returned promptly.
We base our fee on the time spent to complete an assignment. We can provide clients with estimates.
We accept the following forms of payment of clients accounts:

- Direct funds transfer to bank account
- Cash, Cheque, Money Order
- Visa and Mastercard

We have been operating as a local firm in the Clarence Valley for a very long period of time. We have clients who have been with the firm under previous principals dating back to the 19 40’s. The firm\\\'s last twenty years have mirrored the growth in the Clarence Valley and we have progressed to meet the ever changing needs of clients and the industry.
- 1930s - 40s Client records can be traced dating to pre-WWII
- 1970 W.J. Griffiths joins Warren Sanger\\\'s practice.
- 1976 R.A. McDonald acquires W. J Griffiths\\\' accounting practice
- 1982 Paul Kennedy acquired a small tax practice known as R.A. McDonald in Grafton.
- 1984 The Grafton practice was then merged with another small tax practice in Maclean, R.A.Clark. The practice became known as Clark Kennedy & Co.
- 1998 The firm commences offering financial planning advice licensed through Bleakleys.
- 1992 Peter Saunders joined the practice, based in Maclean.
- 1993 The present Fitzroy Street Grafton office is acquired along with the accounting practice of John Jervis & Co.
- 1995 The Maclean office relocated to 273 River Street at its current location.
- 1997 The practice was renamed Kennedy Saunders Pty Ltd.
- 2003 Tandem Financial Advice (as a subsidiary of ING Australia) formed from Partnership Planning, Bleakleys Limited and Advisor Investment Services.
- 2005 The Yamba office moves from Coldstream Street, Yamba to Yamba Road, Yamba
- 2007 Kennedy Saunders Website www.kennedysaunders.com.au launched
- 2008 Tandem Financial Advice is integrated into the Financial Services Partners as part of ING Australia\\\'s acquisition of FSP Group
Peter Saunders BFA, CA
Peter is a Chartered Accountant, born in Coffs Harbour and graduated from the University of New England in 1983. Upon graduating, he worked with multinational firm Arthur Anderson & Co in Audit and Insolvency. He has also worked with firms specialising in tax, company floats and restructures. He has been involved with clients such as BHP, Colgate/Palmolive, Outboard Marine and Paynter Dixon. Locally Peter works with Registered Clubs, primary producers and numerous local businesses and individuals. He is a Registered Company Auditor, Registered Tax Agent, an Examiner with the Law Society of NSW and a Justice of the Peace. Peter specialises in the firms audit and tax area. He is also on the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations panel which conducts examinations and special administrations and has recently been approved by the Australian Taxation Office as a Self Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor.
Paul B. Kennedy BEc DipFinMgmt DipFinPlan, FCA CFP
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and partner since 1982 located in the Grafton office with experienced in Business Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Administrations and Investigations, Financial Planning and a Registered Company Auditor and Registered Tax Agent. Paul graduated with Bachelor of Economics in 1974, for the next 8 years gained experience in professional practice in large chartered accounting firms Pricewaterhouse (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Fell & Starkey (Ernst & Young), as well as in commercial accounting with Davis Fullers Ltd, Readymix Concrete Ltd (CSR Ltd) and Farley and Lewis Ltd (CSR Ltd). Paul is also a Certified Financial Planner and has worked as a Financial Planner since 1988.
Mark Thompson AssocDipBus (Acc) AIPA AFA, JP.
Mark has been practising accounting since 1996 and joined the firm in May 2000. He has been a local since 1961 when his family moved up from Sydney. Mark Completed his secondary schooling at Holy Spirit College in Grafton in 1974. And after almost 20 years in the motor vehicle industry embarked on a career in Accounting. Mark together with other principal members of the firm provides high quality taxation and accounting service and assistance to small-medium sized business clients. Mark specialises in Self Managed Super Funds, Class Super, tailored set-up and support in Banklink & MYOB accounting software for business clients. He is a Registered Tax Agent and Justice of the Peace.
Vicki Boyd, Dip Fp, JP
Vicki commenced working with Kennedy Saunders Accountants in September 1992. Vicki has extensive experience in accounting and taxation issues for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals and specializes in assisting small business with their accounting requirements. Vicki has also administered the firm\\\'s accounts for in excess of 15 years.
Vicki has a Diploma of Financial Planning and has attained her Authorised Representative status with Financial Services Partners. Vicki is also an affiliated member of the FPA and a registered tax agent. Vicki looks forward to assisting her long standing accounting clients with financial planning advice when required.
Together with her husband, Dennis, they operate a local building company, building new homes for clients as well as partaking in small development projects of their own. Vicki controls the financial aspects of the company as well as the interior design and planning of the developments.
Ann Daniels DipMgmt, JP
Joined the firm in March 2000 after working for 14 years with Westpac Banking Corporation. Ann came to the firm with knowledge of the banking industry and held managerial roles in both the service and lending areas within the bank. Ann has lived within the area for most of her life and has knowledge of the industries within our districts. Ann has experience with individual tax, accounting and BAS processing, and also will be able to assist with general enquiries.
Maria Felton CA B.Bus JP
Maria has worked in the Clarence Valley as a Chartered Accountant for more than 20 years. She has acquired a breadth of knowledge this is applied with positive benefits to her clients. Maria provides advice on Income tax, GST, Business planning including business setup, and preparation of Tax Returns, Financial Statements and Business Activity Statements for Individuals, Partnerships, Companies, Trusts and Self-Managed Super funds. Maria can provide support to clients using MYOB accounting software and Banklink. Maria has a Bachelor of Business, a Registered Tax Agent and is a Justice of the Peace.
Grant Alford BBus (Acc)
Grant is our most recent addition to the Kennedy Saunders team. Starting with us in 2012 after graduating from the University Of New England with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in both Professional Accounting and Applied Finance. Grant was born and has lived within the Clarence Valley most of his life and has embarked on a career in Accounting after many years managing within the retail industry.
Jen moved to the Clarence Valley from Sydney in 2002. Prior work experience whilst living in Sydney has been as a Personal Assistant in the finance and administration departments of various large corporations. Jen worked for a couple of local businesses in the Valley before buying and running her own cafe in Ulmarra with her husband for 4 years. She joined us at Kennedy Saunders in 2010.
After working in the Banking industry for 17 years Kim joined a local accounting firm as a receptionist where she remained working for further 10 years. In 2007 Kim joined the staff of Kennedy Saunders as a Client Administration Support Officer and is also the friendly face who will greet you at the door.
Sharyn Osborne JP
Sharyn moved to Grafton in 2008. Sharyn’s previous work experience included managing a small business where she was responsible for job scheduling, all office and financial administration and HR. Sharyn has joined Kennedy Saunders in 2014 and provides administration support for Financial Planning and taxation. Sharyn is a Justice of the Peace.
